Fashionable & Charitable

Olivia Wilde stands on the red carpet looking absolutely beautiful and confident, but it's not only the outside that is beautiful. The actress of the hit T.V show House is auctioning off her gown by Gucci to help Haiti. She has been previously donating to Hati's orphanages and speaks out about the 7.0 Earthquake saying " I am gutted by this catastrophe." The gown will be auctioned off on www.artistsforpeaceandjustice.com. According to U.S Magazine, her jeweler, Tiffany & Co. is also planning to donate $10,000.00 towards Haiti. I give my condolences to everyone who lose their love ones in this disaster. I'am also proud to see a lot of people coming together to finally help this country.

Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2010

May I just say , speaking of my sewing experience, that simple button up contain so much construction that I learned to appreciate every one that I own. Two talented Italian designers such as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their Menswear collection on Saturday January,16th,2010, during Milan's autumn/winter 2010/2011 menswear fashion week. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said they were inspired by "Baaria," a big-budget, sentimental sweep through 20th century Sicily ,which was Dolce's birthplace, taking in fascism, war, communism and the Mafia. Their pieces consist of mainly black, white and grey. Models wore knits over trousers that narrowed at the bottom, against a screen backdrop showing scenes of "Baaria". Pictures shown that vests were tucked into black washed-out jeans or long-john type trousers and shorts. White shirts were sleek and tucked into jeans or black trousers. To bring out the them they accessorized the look with black caps and boots. Screens also showed the scene backstage.

Here are some of their AMAZING pieces

&iLive Apparel

Whats up with &iLive Apparel?

Growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y, I notice that people always have something to say about how a certain person is dressed. However, I realized at a young age that Fashion is a way of expressing yourself. Therefore, one day I plan to create a line name &iLive Appareal.. (Freedom of your fashion) based on the idea of people rebelling to what society says about fashion. You will notice that my designs would have something on one side of the garment and its not by accident...Its my style of design =]. It will be first seen in muslin and then fabric. I'm making pieces for 2 local Fashion Shows I will be featured in and all pieces will be based around this theme. The finished piece would be posted soon and all the other pieces would have to stay a secret...SORRY =[. Stay fierce, fabulous, & fashionable!

Lady Gaga and 944 Magazine January 2010

Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah!
Roma-Roma-ma-ah!
Ga-ga-ooh-la-la! Ooh-la-la is right. Lady GaGa , must I say , LOOKS FIEEEERCE! Lady GaGa was styled by Nicola Formichetti. According to http://www.nicolaformichetti.com/biography/ , Nicola currently lives between New York,London and Tokyo. He works as an editor on several fashion magazines, all of which he is closely involved with throughout the entire process; as well as being a consultant for a number of leading fashion brands, working on their image, business strategy, marketing processes or simply styling the campaigns. Lady GaGa has changed music and fashion. My personal passion for her grew when I watched the Alexander Mcqueen S/S Collection on youtube and saw the girls stomping it out for the ending of his show to Bad Romance. Lady GaGa is also appearing on Elle magazine this month and recently appered on Bravo's new show Launch My Line. She's worlwide and she deserves it. But, I admit that she is sometimes a little over the top, but NO SHADE I guess thats her and her style. She looks gorgeous in these pictures!!!

Urban Decay's Limited Edition Alice in Wonderland

“"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” says Alice. Urban Decay invites Alice in Wonderland into a magical Book of Shadows
in honor of Tim Burton’s upcoming film Alice In Wonderland 3D , coming out March 5, 2010. The movie is about Alice returning Wonderland on an adventure of self discovery and to save Wonderland from the Red Queen's reign of terror with the help of her Wonderland friends.According to www.urbandecay.com, inside a hidden drawer lies 16 best-selling eyeshadows, with names like White Rabbit (white - 2nd Row, 2nd Column), Midnight Tea Party (golden beige - 3rd Row, 3rd Column), Mad Hatter (reddish brown - bottom row, 3rd Column), Queen (shimmery mauve - top Row, last Column), Mushroom (muted grey - 3rd Row, 2nd Column), Jabberwocky (black - bottom row, last column), Oraculum (shimmery golden orange - top Row, 3rd Column) and (of course!) Alice (bright blue - top row). A travel-size Primer Potion, two 24/7 Eye Pencils and a artistic 3D pop- out scence are also included.Since this is a limited edition product and it would be in only select Sophora stores, there are rumors about the release dates. Some say it came out the last week of December, which I highly doubt. I recommend to sign up for Sephora's email blast for the release date. I absolutely loooove wearing eyeshadow and this would be perfect colors for the Spring! This is a must for the your Spring cosmetic bag! I also plan on seeing the movie in Imax theaters.

Show me your GOOOORGEOUS FACE!

DIVAS TO THE RUNWAY PLEASE! These gorgeous divas stomp the runway with pieces from the latest collections every season in fashion shows. But its not only the clothing and walk that make these outfits look fierce. Make-up artist such as Pat McGrath, Peter Phillips and Francois Nars helped different designers make the story of their collection come alive. Here are some of the fierce dramatic looks:

I feel that the press should sometimes take there eyes off the people who are known and concentrate on people who are talented, but aren't discover yet. My friend, Kitty Lee has shocked me with her talent for make-up. The first time I saw Kitty apply make-up was during our Dewey Dance Ensemble performance. Most of the dancer's in our school's company didn't know how to apply make-up. WE WERE DANCER'S NOT MAKE-UP ARTIST! Kitty then came to the rescue and applied the most prettiest colors together to go with our skin tone. Now, she practices some of her own designs on her on time and plans to go to make-up school after finishing up her degree at Buffalo State. Here is some of her work along with some interview questions I asked her.

1. What inspired you to do makeup?: Honestly, no idea! I was curious about makeup and when I was in junior high, I saw girls putting on eyeliner. I went to my local pharmacy and purchased my first black eyeliner to try. My sister went to college and came back with her own stash and that's when I got hyped! But I think most of this came from my interest in art, design, colors, etc. As an artist, you have to be versatile and be able to work with different mediums.

2. When did you start doing makeup?: My interested started when my sister brought home her own stash. I bought my own drugstore makeup and played around until I got better than her!

3. What experience do you have in doing makeup?: As of right now, I am just a full-time student at Buffalo, so no experience at all. I am in a dance team in my school, so when we have shows I do their makeup. I have no professional training, so it's all practicing and having fun experimenting at the moment.

4. What do you plan on doing with you makeup artist talent?: First of all, I have to finish up my college first. Since I have no professional training at all, I plan on going to makeup school after I graduate from Buffalo. I figured, if I got a degree in design, that would give me a background for other things.

5. What are your inspirations for your work?: I have many! Nature, life, people, runway, etc. I love experimenting with different colors, textures, techniques. I also love looking at photographs, paintings and such to implement into a certain look.

6. What are your favorite makeup brands?: Again, I have many! There is just so many different brands and types of makeup, you can never be able to catch all of it! I love branching out into different brands, whether it's department store makeup or drugstore makeup. If I have to state a brand I'd say: MAC, Make Up Forever, Stila, Urban Decay, Chanel, Dior, Laura Mercier, NARS, Maybelline, Covergirl, Loreal, Revlon, Ben Nye. (Just to name a few, lol)

7. Got any makeup tips for beginners?: One thing that I cannot stress enough is to protect and work on your skin. It is really important to protect your skin with SPF because it will help prevent skin cancer and other things harmful to the skin. Exfoliate, cleanse and toning your skin is vital. It creates a smoother canvas for you to work with, so applying makeup will be effortless.
